St Kitts and Nevis is a small two island nation in West Indies. St. Kitts, also known as 'Saint Christopher' and Nevis forms part of the group of islands known as the Lesser Antilles, located some 2,000 km to the southeast of Miami. The country has wonderful cool climate, enjoyable throughout the year. The country is well connected by flights from US, Europe and the Caribbean airliners.

Update: Due to new regulations imposed by Canada, St Kitts Nevis passport holders will now require a visa to travel to Canada. It is not possible to travel visa free to Canada. Only Antigua has now a visa free travel to Canada from the three Caribbean solutions (Antigua, St. Kitts and Dominica).

 

Minimum Investment

To qualify for citizenship of St. Kitts and Nevis under its Citizenship-by-Investment Program, the Government requires either .....

1. A non refundable charity donation of minimum US$ 250,000 to the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF) for single person + payment of processing fees. For accompanying family members (see below).

2. Designated recoverable Real Estate Investment with a value of at least US$ 400,000 plus payment of various registration and other fees. For any accompanying family members, additional costs apply (see below).

Fee and Costs

Minimum investment: $250,000 (SIDF) or $400,000 (Real Estate) +

Due diligence fee: $7500 per person +
Consulting Fee: ($7150) +
Lawyer fee: ($27000) +
Passport fee: $350 per person +

The total costs will come around $342,000 per person. Additional costs apply for dependents and family members.

 

1. SIDF Investment (Charity donation)

The Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF) was setup by St.Kitts Nevis Govt to support displaced sugar workers as a result of sugar industry closure, and bring in new developments into the country benefiting the people of St.Kitts and Nevis. The SIDF program aims to raise funds for the country to diversity agricultural sector and to stimulate the economic development of the country. Donations or contributions to the SIDF Foundation by foreign nationals, makes them eligible to apply for St.Kitts citizenship by means of investment.

The SIDF option is the fastest and cheapest way to attain second citizenship and the processing time takes 4-6 months. The SIDF option is the easiest compared to real estate and processing time is 4-6 months. St.Kitts passport has 10 years validity.

 

2. Real Estate Investment

The Government requires either an investment in designated real estate with a value of at least US$ 400,000 plus payment of various registration and other fees.

Note: As you can see, the real estate option is expensive but the real estate option is a recoverable investment however, the real estate cannot be re-sold until 5 years after the purchase, and as of 2012 new regulations, selling after 5 years will qualify the next buyer for citizenship.
